Airware Wins Award for Innovation at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards
Airware has been named the winner of the Award for Innovation at this year’s Gatwick Diamond Business Awards, a distinction that recognises the company’s mobile-first solution and its significant contributions to the aviation industry.

The announcement was made during a ceremony at The Grand Hotel on the Brighton seafront, which hosted leading businesses from across the Gatwick Diamond region to celebrate organisations and individuals who demonstrate excellence, inspire, and commit to regional development.
The Award for Innovation is reserved for businesses that achieve meaningful progress by introducing transformative technology or processes. In their citation, the judging panel highlighted the tangible impact of Airware’s solutions, stating that Airware has delivered a breakthrough that is reshaping how the industry operates. The judges further noted that the technology streamlines complex processes, reduces costs, and improves efficiency for all stakeholders, calling it a "game-changing advancement" with the potential to transform operations across the global aviation sector.
Airware’s technology aims to reduce airport congestion and passenger stress by moving everything onto apps, one for passengers, one for agents. Using a mobile-first approach, passengers can weigh, tag, and pay for excess baggage in under two minutes before proceeding to the bag drop. By streamlining these steps, Airware allows airports to provide a more efficient, user-centric experience at every stage of the journey.
The award also underscores Airware’s deep ties to the region, particularly its ongoing collaboration with London Gatwick (LGW). Currently, Airware’s award-winning self-service appliances are operational at London Gatwick for Ryanair passengers, and the airport is among the first to implement the Agent App. Airware leadership noted that working alongside the innovation team at LGW has been a pivotal element of their growth, cementing a partnership that continues to drive local technological advancement.
