Airware Transforms Airline Ground Handling with Mobile-First Agent Technology, Built on AWS
Already live at major European airports, the Airware Agent App consolidates check-in, boarding, and ancillary payments into one mobile-first platform for ground handlers.

Airware Solutions uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) to power its Agent App, which is already revolutionising how airlines, airports, and ground handlers manage check-in and boarding activities, as well as ancillary services.
Shaped by direct input from leading airlines, airports, and ground handlers, the Airware Agent App is already live at major airports, including London Gatwick, Dublin, and Birmingham, where agents are successfully boarding passengers using nothing more than a mobile phone.
The Airware Agent App consolidates what were previously multiple disconnected systems into a single, intuitive application running on a single device. At the heart of the application is middleware, hosted on AWS, that connects the Airware Agent App directly to an airline's Departure Control System (DCS). This architecture enables deployment of a fully integrated app in days, dramatically reducing the time and resources usually required for airline technology rollouts.
Airware's cloud-native platform replaces complex challenges associated with fixed-desk check-in infrastructure with a flexible, scalable alternative that needs no on-site IT network. The Agent App takes airports out of the GDPR and PCI/DSS compliance chain and removes the need to coordinate system changes with technology vendors on behalf of individual airlines. At the same time, airlines benefit from Airware’s AWS-hosted services through faster integration and a more cost-effective, trusted platform that enables consistent operations across their entire airport network.
What's in the Airware Agent App
Mobile Tap to Pay: Agents can process ancillary sales directly on the device, with full revenue reconciliation fed back to the DCS in real time.
Check-in and Boarding: The app extends across the full passenger journey, from check-in through to gate, supported by dedicated Airware hardware where required.
Multi-Airline Support on a Single Device: Airware has enabled a bring-your-own-device model in which a ground handler can run multiple airline apps on a single device, removing the need for airlines to own or provision hardware for every agent.
Rapid DCS Integration: The AWS middleware layer means new airline deployments require minimal DCS integration resources, compressing typical project timelines from months to days.
